House and Garden

House and Garden
Deb Victoroff
A "city girl" buys an isolated country house on a parcel of overgrown land in the hopes of "civilizing it" and making it her own. But the house and the land refuse to be gentrified and seem to violently conspire against her. She feels the dislike of the townsfolk toward the city people who keep buying up the countryside only to domesticate it to city tastes. Are they behind the creeping dangers that assault her at every turn? Or is there some larger malevolent force in play?

About the Author

Deb Victoroff (me!) started her writing career producing humor essays and articles for
this medium called “print” (which, like vinyl records, used to be cool, but now is
sort of rare and ironic) including The Village Voice, Penthouse, and Cosmopolitan
magazines. Her humor commentary has also appeared online on Open Salon, and on the radio for NPR.

Deb also contributes a monthly horoscope parody to the online humor magazine Happy Woman Magazine ("We Think So You Don't Have To!") at www.happywomanmagazine.com.
Most recently, her comedic play "But Siriously" has been produced for the new theatrical podcast "Amy's Horse" (amyshorse.com).
