About the Author

When an adolescent Kevin Berry handed in a 50,000 word murder mystery for his high school English assignment, his long-suffering teacher accepted the stack of papers with poorly masked horror. Today, Berry’s work is generally met with a stronger reception, including multiple independent writing awards and glowing critical reviews.

Berry’s fiction is known for its high stakes and dramatic action, but his stories are drawn from his own life experience. In 2010 and 2011, Berry lived through the devastating earthquakes that struck Christchurch in New Zealand, forever changing how residents saw their city. His personal struggle with Bipolar Disorder and Asperger’s Syndrome inspired the characters in his novels Stim and Kaleidoscope, described as powerful and authentic representations.

When Berry isn’t raising his two sons, reading other indie authors or working as a copy editor, the writer can be found hunched over his laptop, face scrunched and fingers flying well into the early hours.
