About the Author

A native New Yorker, author Lara Reznik escaped to New Mexico in the 1970s in a Karmann Ghia that she jump-started cross-country. As an English major at the University of New Mexico, she studied under esteemed authors Rudolfo Anaya and the late Tony Hillerman.

In 2012 Lara published The Girl From Long Guyland, a psychological suspense novel. Guyland struck a chord as a ride down memory lane for baby boomers.

Following the breakout success of The Girl From Long Guyland, Lara retired from her day job as an I.T. manager at a utility to write full time.

Her 2nd novel, The M&M Boys, is a coming-of-age story of a troubled little leaguer, who learns valuable lessons about honor and friendship when Roger Maris and Mickey Mantle move next door to him during the home run race of 1961.

Bagels &Salsa followed after numerous Amazon reviewers of Guyland wanted to learn more about the relationship of the New York Jewish protagonist, Laila, and her Hispanic husband Eduardo who grew up in rural New Mexico. Its the story of how they meet in NYC and return to New Mexico where their love is tested by his surly mama, a gorgeous ex-girlfriend, a Son of Sam copycat, and cultural differences. The novel was published in January 2018 and was a finalist in the Texas Writers League Author Contest
