Born in the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan Joseph enlisted in the US Army when he was 17 as an M1A1 Armor crewmen. Before his final deployment to Afghanistan he was told by a supervisor to keep a diary because they "were living history". That diary slowly turned into the book The Hooligans of Kandahar after 5 years of edits and rewrites.
Now out of the Army, Joseph lives in the Seattle area with his Wife and entirely too many dogs.
