About the Author

I write for those whose lives haven’t gone exactly as planned, whether in romance, career, or family. Writing is the way I navigate the tension between how the universe is and how it ought to be. As an award-winning reporter and editor of an international skating newspaper, my greatest fulfillment was capturing ordinary people’s stories of pride and pain.
“Is it too late to become who we’re meant to be be? And how can an ordinary person be great?” These are story questions that grew out of a reunion with high school friends as we looked at each other through the lens of decades that had passed. I began revisiting my high school years with the thought that even though we leave high school, high school never leaves us. What emerged was a tale of three girlfriends, one betrayal, three decades of bitterness, and one showdown that changes everything in the resurrection of a beaten-down woman. She discovers that she must face - not run from - her deepest fears.
My heart is divided between my home at the edge of the Colorado Rocky Mountains and the Midwest prairies where I was raised. Genres I’ve published in: novel, nonfiction narrative, memoir, business books, children’s, and newspaper and magazine articles.
