Thieving Forest
Martha Conway
Winner of the North American Book Award for Historical Fiction, Thieving Forest is a fast-paced read perfect for summer. After Susanna Quiner helplessly watches her four older sisters get abducted by a tribe of Potawatomi Indians, she rashly decides to follow them herself. The man who loves her, part Potawatomi himself, is not far behind. What follows is a summer of captivity, near-starvation, and love, as all five sisters change forever.
