About the Author

Laurel Gord came of age in the sixties and spent several years hitchhiking around the country. After many adventures, she married John, an engineer, and moved to Venice California. They raised three children while she went back to school and worked as a parent/toddler teacher. In their sixties and faced with an empty nest, Laurel and John struggled to find a shared adventure to spice up their odd-couple marriage. They chose the Pacific Crest Trail. Their marriage survived altitude sickness, body breakdown, close quarters and moments of sheer terror. Gord, a poet, tells the tale with humor, honesty and grace.
