Jon Von Knight - Writing About Earthly Angels

Jon Von Knight - Writing About Earthly Angels
author of the day

Jon Von Knight is an author who was so inspired by his best friend, Sharon, that he decided to dedicate a series to her. Today, he chats with us about his book, Courage Passion Wisdom and Grace, why he feels that Sharon is an Earth Angel and in which way the book is based on a true story.

Please give us a short introduction to Courage Passion Wisdom and Grace

It’s the true story of an Angel on Earth. I call Sharon an Angel because that’s the essence of her soul. That’s what other light workers see when they translate her energy. Her bright light cuts through all darkness. Other souls are drawn to her for the pure love and healing she radiates.

The discovery of this extraordinary gift brought unexpected changes to Sharon’s life. There are times when she wonders if the heartache is worth it. Through the family turmoil, the ending of a lifelong career and a bittersweet divorce, one person continued to believe in her and all the other worldly experiences that were becoming her new life, her best friend, Jack.

He gives her the support she needs to forge ahead into the unknown and her story gives him the inspiration to live his life rather than just exist in it. He awakens to the limitless potential in this world and begins to find his purpose. Not so coincidently, that’s exactly what Sharon’s gift does for anyone who is ready to receive.

If you haven’t figured it out yet, I’m Jack.

What inspired you to write this book?

It all came together one night during a conversation with Sharon. I became her confidant on all things metaphysical for the simple reason that I was open to it. I guess she knew that. Every time we talked about her experiences on the other side and the message they were asking her to deliver, I had an overwhelming feeling she was being trusted with sacred information. Others thought she was crazy but I felt honored to be a part of it. I was awakening and I never felt so alive. I wanted to share that feeling with as many people as possible.

I guess I saw too much ugliness in a beautiful world and thought it doesn’t have to be this way. If everyone awakened to their true power the ugly would go away. Sharon’s light awakens. Her gift helps souls remember who they really are. From there they can share their unique contribution. This is an unprecedented time in our history and I think we are all ready for positive change.

In which way is Courage Passion Wisdom and Grace a true story?

It’s true in that I lived it. I may have never crossed to the other side like Sharon – at least not that I remember - but I trust her detailed accounts of the events and messages she receives.

A few of my Amazon reviews question the “true” nature of the story. I can only answer such questions with a quote from Stuart Chase, “ For those who believe, no proof is necessary. For those who don’t believe no proof is possible.”

And that’s okay. The point of the story is not to prove anything but to spread a message of truth and love.

Who is Sharon to you?

Sharon is my best friend but we are better defined as family. We’ve known each other for 26 years. It’s been said we that we’ve known each other in many past lives as well so I guess it’s much longer than that. I believe we were meant to meet up again in this life to tell this story.

Did Sharon know right from the start that she is an angel?

It’s interesting to hear it told from her perspective. When she was younger she thought everyone could see and feel things the way she did. She used to call it common sense. If that’s not a message from an Angel I don’t know what is.

We all have that same brilliant light inside. We’re all angels in our own way. That’s why it’s important to love your Self. Your love unleashes your inner light.

In what ways do you feel the negativity of others can affect ones spirit?

Outside negativity can only affect you to the extent that you let it. That is one of the biggest lessons we’re all here to learn. Even Earth Angels have to learn it and for them it can be much more difficult. Their empathic hearts are extremely sensitive, wide open and vulnerable. In the story, Sharon learns she must teach by example. Eventually she finds out how challenging it is to exemplify the lesson of not taking things personally.

Who are some of your favorite authors?

Douglas Adams for the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy books. That is one of the most entertaining, imaginative and humorous stories I’ve ever read. I also like Paulo Coelho for The Alchemist. I don’t tend to follow authors as much as books. I like stories. Right now I’m reading a great book by Neil Peart called Ghost Rider: Travels on the Healing Road.

Besides writing, what other skills do you have?

I love music and I’ve played guitar since I was a teenager. I played in some bands back in the day but I must confess I don’t pick it up enough anymore.

I also love building things. I worked as a mechanic for many years and built several motorcycles in my home shop. My newfound hobby is woodworking. I’ve built some rustic furniture and like incorporating sacred geometry into the designs.

What do you think is the secret to happiness?

I don’t know if I can say anything here that hasn’t already been said but I’ll give it a shot. Live a life that gets you excited to jump out of bed each day, laugh a lot and love with all your heart.

It seems so simple yet sometimes we get lost in the illusion we call reality. I know I do. But its amazing how much better you feel just by touching your bare feet to the earth for a while and being grateful for all the blessings in your life. From there you can create anything you want.

What do you hope your readers will take away from this book?

I smile wide every time I read a review that details something personal that the reader took away from the book or how they relate the story to their personal experience. Most of the time it’s something I wasn’t even thinking of while writing the story. But that’s the beauty of it. Like a classic song, there are always multiple interpretations of the meaning – as many as there are unique souls in the universe.

Whether they enjoyed an entertaining story or found a profound personal truth, I’m grateful they took the time to read my words.

What are you working on right now?

Aside from writing pieces for my blog, I’m about 20,000 words into Courage Passion Wisdom and Grace Part II. I’m happy to say the story continues.
