I've been reading and re-reading this one for years. These were newspaper verses, printed in 1916, and they're all sincere, straightforward and corny. I have learned something important myself as a writer from Guest: there are important things you just can't say if you're afraid of looking unsophisticated. If you're willing to risk looking like an unsophisticated reader, you'll enjoy these.
