by Alvar Núñez Cabeza de Vaca

This book is written in ancient spanish language and it is not fiction but history. His autor was the first european traveling all around southern US. When his ship sunk in Florida, he tried to reach Mexico just walking with others survivers. He was the first white man discovering Mississipi river. The trip from Florida to Mexico took him 7 years. He was slave of the indians, he won his freedom, he was also the first european to see and eat "maiz" (corn). If you are interested in the spanish conquer of America this book fits such interest.

Naufragios de Alvar Núñez Cabeza de Vaca

by Alvar Núñez Cabeza de Vaca

Author of the Day

William A. Liggett
Some of Bill Liggett's earliest memories are of climbing over the rocks near their family cabin in the mountains. He has always had a love for nature and a keen interest in science, which inspired him to start writing books in the "cli-fi" genre, where behavioral and earth sciences are blended to create riveting fiction. As our Author of the Day, Liggett talks about his book, Watermelon Snow, his research and reveals why he put a positive spin on a book about global warming.
