The Book of Anecdotes and Budget of Fun

This book is hilarious! As a living historian, it's helpful for me to not only know what topics were discussed in history, but also what jokes were told. Having studied history in depth, I "get" the background for these jokes and find them highly entertaining.

I beg to differ with the previous reviewer (who may possibly have not read more than the first page or two). Though this book includes some jokes that we would consider racially slanted, the majority are not. And even the racial jokes, when understood in their historical context, are almost all non-offensive.

The Light of Western Stars

Great Book! Zane Grey is a master at bringing the old west to us 100 years later. I can "see" with his creative writing, the vast expanse and rough territory that was the wild west. Every book I have read (this makes #9) keeps me enthralled to the very last page and he always ends each book wonderfully! I plan on reading everything this man had written - he is that good!
