The Communist Manifesto

by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels

It doesn't matter how one feels about communism, capitalism, class in society, etc. This book IS important because it has helped define modern society and how we define ourselves. In this respect, it is as important as the Bible. It should not be dismissed simply because we are appalled at the crimes of the practitioners (Stalin, Mao). It must be taken on its own merits as a revolutionary work of an extraordinary thinker.
