The Beach of Dreams

by Henry de Vere Stacpoole

After a bit of a slow start, this story quickly grabs the reader's attention and becomes a real page-turner. It's a very good story, full of authentic situations. The author spent much of his life at sea and around islands where this adventure takes place. Good writing, suspenseful plot, excellent characters. Highly recommended.

The Pools of Silence

by Henry de Vere Stacpoole

Just a bit of a warning. This book contains descriptions of graphic violence, including against children. It is essential to the story; nonetheless it can be very disturbing.

The author's writing is, as always, very good, and it's a powerful story that needed to be told.

As our Author of The Day, Seabranch chats about female pirates, 15 year olds and butterflies.
