De Profundis

by Oscar Wilde

A tremendous insight into the mind, heart and soul of a brilliant individual condemned to pariah by Victorian Society. This lengthy letter begins with an overview of Wilde's destructive relationship with Lord Alfred Douglas, evolves into an exquisite study of his spiritual life (a personal look at Christ which is astounding in its insight) and ends with a last, desperate attempt to reach a singularly unreachable young lover.
