I think of this as a desert isand castaway story. It as a certain sensuous undercurrent to it but no overt sex, I don't know why it is listed in the sexuality section. Having said that it is an enjoyable read that is extremely well written and is surprisingly difficult to put down.

This is fun to read. The beginning makes one realise that western social systems do have some merits, though the heroine despite being forced into prostitution by the death of her parents, seems to enjoy it after a short time. The ending seems weak, as if Clelland was in a hurry to get it finished. (Maybe his time in jail was almost finished)

This is an enjoyable short story with good portrayal of the main character.

The plot does not hang together very well and is far fetched. Despite this the story moves quickly and is fun to read.
