Quite interesting.
For history buffs, Fitzroy was the captain of the Beagle, which took Charles Darwin on the 5 year cruise that lead eventually to the Theory of Evolution. Fitzroy was an early advocate of weather forecasting - for which, of course, he was ridiculed in the British Press.

Pure ERB. Few books have kept me so spellbound... I haven't read these in decades and I find myself rereading them by LED light under the blanket on my kindle in the middle of the night.
BTW, there were 2 other pellucidarian books written in the 60's or 70's by another author with permission from the estate...

Pure Burroughs at his lovely best. Fast paced, marvelously peopled, and great moral foundation. Never tire of his work.

Loved the book! This is a fast story that they young man in me loved. Good guys win in the end. I want to read all of Edmond Hamilton's books now.
