Wuthering Heights

The first time I picked up this book I really struggled through the initial 50 pages. It was such a strange situation with so many unfamiliar characters, that I thought I would have to just give up.

Thankfully I didn't (it wasn't as complicated as I had thought) and it is now my favorite novel, read many times over. Dark and relentless--a true masterpiece of Gothic fiction.

Tao Te King (Dao 'h Ching)

Not a book to be read in a single sitting, the Tao Te Ching is intended to be digested slowly and thoughtfully over time. Each passes is an insight to be pondered and enjoyed on a variety of levels.

By design, the writing is unclear and somewhat riddle-like, but a reader who is patient enough to explore the variety of possibilities will undoubtedly find themselves richer for the experience.
