This edition of The Merry Wives of Windsor was published in 1909, well before the Catalan Dictionary and General Grammar by Pompeu Fabra appeared in 1917 and 1918. For this reason, the translation of Josep Carner makes use of the grammatical and orthographic conventions that were generally accepted at that time, and assuch have been kept untouched throughout this transcription.
