Advanced Search

Sunday, September 10th, 2006

The Advanced Search page now allows for searching multiple categories, which means you can search for books that are Romance AND Western. Thanks to Ela Huguet for the suggestion!

Of course, the layout still isn’t ideal; search results are at the bottom of the page, far below the fold, and I haven’t figured out how resolve that yet :)

Custom iLiad PDF - “extra”

Friday, September 8th, 2006

There’s a new iLiad PDF formatting option called “Custom iLiad PDF - extra” in the download menu now. It uses domPDF for the rendering, which allows for some really nice CSS-controlled options like justification, paragraph spacing, and the like — all popular requests.

The catch is the speed of the script — it has none. It’s slow. So slow that most folks will think the script has died, or timed out. The results are quite nice, I think, but this probably won’t be terrifically popular.

Building the script did get me going on a simple HTML-format download option, though, which will allow folks to specify some basic formatting options for the zipped HTML. Not fully tested, but it seems OK. Anyone care to comment?
