When Alpha Centauri goes nova just as the hyperdrive ship pops into its vicinity, there's nothing to do but go back to Earth. But what if popping into normal space triggered the nova?

The characters are two-dimensional, but the plotting is nice and tense.

I liked it.

It is an old horror plot
