This is really a brilliant work of fiction. Mary transports the reader first through a series of letters from Dr. Frankenstein to his sister, and then moves you through the story as told to the doctor's rescuer. The language is eloquent and you get the sense that your are peering into some secrets of the writer's personality as the development of Frankenstein's character is presented through the story. Full of wisdom and quotable moments, this novel is nothing like what Hollywood has painted it.
