When Indiana Jones is called in to help by an old mentor, William Taylor, he agrees - only somewhat reluctantly - but what he doesn't know is that helping him out will be a far more intense adventure than he agreed to.

Freshly back from his other adventures, Indiana Jones is approached by an old friend and mentor William Taylor who has an intriguing yet vague proposition - travel with him to India and help him discover the hiding place of one of the nails used in the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

The location of this relic is misleadingly simple - it resides in one of the temples of Tamil Nadu. One of the forty-thousand or so temples of Tamil Nadu. William Taylor says that one of their colleagues, Father John, has found a map that could lead them right to it. Not too soon they discover that they are not the only ones after the relic and Jones is left relying on Father John's memory of the journal and map to guide them.

While afloat on the Conte Grande, the most luxurious ship imaginable, they come face to face with not only gun toting fascists but part of the truth behind why William Taylor is so set on redemption. In the days that follow and as they make their way through Kerala further tales of woe, seemingly small mistakes with grand consequences, and human fallibility unfold and Indiana Jones learns all of William Taylor's story. Yet what they are still to discover will rock their very understanding of the foundation of the world.
