Jack Grylewicz is a Polish immigrant who came to embrace the freedom of the United States in 1979. His departure was from the oppressive regime of the socialist agenda which limits a perspective of daily life. A tradesman and laborer called into the ministry in late, middle age. His conversion was dramatic, where he was given as a new name Jacob and identity as an author and evangelist, advocate; as a servant of Christ. His authorship has written a number of books notably God’s Bread of Life, Sands Of Life, Come home to Me My Children, and My Army of Giants are Coming.

Please give us a short introduction to what Hell to Reality is about

"Hell to Reality: One prisoner's journey" is compelling historical fiction on actual events. This is an edge-of-your-seat novel about the harrowing accounts of war, persecution and the identity that Peter Mayer’s never lost. It's the story of survival for Peter in a German-occupied Poland during WWII.

Was there a specific moment when you realized you wanted to be an author?

I committed myself to writing in the year 2010, when I wanted to pass onto others my spiritual experiences with God. This brought out my creative thinking and enjoyment for writing.

How long on average does it take you to write a book?

The inspirational books, on average, take about two weeks. Historical fiction like Hell to Reality that are based on historical accounts takes approximately one year to complete.

How do you balance your work and writing schedules?

I generally wrote late evenings often from 10 pm when daily activities in the house were quiet until 3am.

What would you say is your interesting writing quirk?

Material that has an unanswered question. The material available by others left many more unanswered question and material with depth that really stirred my emotion. It is my desire to inform, teach the lesson and contribute my experience of what I learned by the accounts with as much truth I wrote about which engaged and changed my perspective on the subjects I wrote about.

Where do you find your best ideas?

The material I choose to write about must be compelling and unusual with a resolution.

When did you write your first book?

I wrote my first book, “God’s Bread of Life” in 2010 in 10 days.

Besides writing, what other hobbies do you have?

I believe in family first, this is important to me. I am a caregiver to my wife and son. I enjoyed cooking and generally prepare the meals for my family. I engage myself in nature and take long reflecting walks to think and contemplate about each day’s activities.

What do your family and close friends think of your writing?

Being creative as a writer is a process there is misunderstandings in any family. We have all learned patience in submitting to the creative process.

What was one of the interesting things that you learned about yourself when you published your first book?

I learned two of the most valuable lessons in creative writing, publishing and media, patience and endurance.

How many books have you written? Which one is your favorite?

I have many works in draft stages. My completed work number is six. “My Army of Giants are Coming“is a personal favorite. I found the material deeply emotional, which encouraged my faith and relationship to God.

What do you think makes a good story?

Resolution is the key to good writing. Completion of the work requires commitment.
