ion is but a revelation of Thine Own Self, with each of Whom we have truly appeared and we bow down in adoration before Thee. Thou hast been, O my Best Beloved, and shalt ever be my witness throughout bygone times and in the days to come. Verily, Thou art the All-Powerful, the Ever-Faithful, the Omnipotent.

This book not only gives the reader an insight into the conditions of the 1800s in Persia, but also into the overwhelming devotion of the author, The Bab (English translation - The Gate) to the glorification of God and to the announcement that a new messenger from God was about to be revealed.

This man was the forerunner of Baha'u'llah, the prophet founder of the Baha'i Faith. Because He dared to suggest that another messenger from God was forthcoming, He was shot and killed by the Persian military. If you are a student of religion, this is a "must read" book.
