Crownwall nodded. "In other words, you think that we Earthmen can break up this two-million-year-old stalemate. You've got the idea that, with our help, you can conquer planets without the necessity of destroying them, and thereby take over number one spot from these Sunda friends of yours."

The Vegans (who, from their teeth, eat meat) have blockaded the Earth as a test. When the Earthlings break the blockade they ask human help to overthrow the galactic dictators.

What seemed at first to be a hokey story, had a couple of interesting twists, a conception of a new type of space travel, and a wicked, if not evil, ending.
