Interesting vademecum that manages to be not only comprehensible but also adapted to filipino culture.
The swiss physician Tissot wrote this book "Advice to the people in general, with regard to their health", to help lay people cure common ailments and diseases if professional medical care is out of their reach. Father Manuel Blanco the noted Spanish priest, who is also known for his book "Flora de Filipinas", translated the book into Tagalog and included comments and notes pertaining to the Philippine situation in the late 1800s.

Afterall, a lot of the so called "miracle cures" that are being discovered now seemed to already have been used in the past!
