Read this several years ago and wasn't much impressed. I thought the heroine wasn't much to write home about and the young man she falls in love with was a simp. Read as a historical curiosity.

One of the less-nauseating sequels to Five Little Peppers. Joel is the least well-behaved of the Pepper children, which makes him more human.

One of my favorite Holmes stories, probably because Watson is an active character. Holmes is ill and he refuses to allow Watson to treat him.
