dmadi’s book reviews

Very entertaining. 30 or 40 short sections of his travels in various parts of Russia early in the last century, the people he encounters in town and country. Some really poetic writing about nature, also.

The Sacher-Masoch story is good and the E.T.A. Hoffmann story is great and really enjoyable. The other stories are so-so.

As the other reviewer said, fine writing (and showing that Beebe was a very cultured person.) Very enjoyable.
