john’s book reviews

I encourage you to read these marvelous works. The characterisation is quite wonderful. The language is strong and brings the era to life. I would also say that have google open in which to look up words and phrases that sadly have fallen from common usage. If literature feeds the mind than the Books of Barchester are a feast.

A simple story that is well written, the charcters are real, they have substance. A tale of moral fibre that we could all take something from int todays world of greed. The language is easy even if there are several words I need the dictionary for. It is the sort of book that you enjoy and broadens your command of the English language

Mark Whiteway - Epic Sci-Fi Adventure Featuring an Ancient Destructive Technology
FEATURED AUTHOR - Writing SciFi has been a long-held ambition for Mark Whiteway. As a kid, he read everything - H.G. Wells, Jules Verne, Robert Heinlein, etc., etc. At twelve years old, he wrote a novella. Following that, life intervened, and it was only in April '09 that Mark determined that he wanted to get back to writing. He had several ideas running around in his head for some time, of which the Lodestone concept was probably the strongest. As our Author of the Day, he tells us more about the trilogy.
