The story itself is about two brothers and their interaction between the local priests and politics, intermingled with a ghostly woman in white who seeks to give advice and lead them, and others, to a Bible and its teachings (very heretic to the teachings of the Catholic priests who feel it's demonic to read the Bible instead of taking their interpretation of it), as well as both being in love with the same woman. Great history.
