This is apparently the second volume, although there is no notice to this effect. I asked someone familiar with the whole trilogy whether this was supposed to begin in the middle of a siege and was told this was NOT the beginning of the book. Nevertheless, while I have quite a bit to read, it works this way and is more interesting than With Fire and Sword, which often dragged.
