Of course it is in Wade-Giles. This is an all time classic in the field of Chinese studies and it was written at a time when Pinyin was not even invented yet.

Very much in need of a good editor, especially in the beginning where the author insists on introducing a new character almost every page. I also found the main characters not terrible likeable, which ruins a book for me.
