If you're using Windows, removing ".php" from the filename and adding ".pdb" to the file should fix the problem. Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - 307859 "How to change file associations in Windows XP" may be useful if you're having trouble changing the file extension.
You can read PDF formatted eBooks using Adobe's Acrobat Reader, or read eReader formatted eBooks using one of eReader's desktop eReader applications for Mac or PC, or you might find that an all-purpose desktop reading application like Stanza suits your needs best.
