About the Author

Prize winning poet and writer Harriet Levin was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She earned an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Iowa Writer's Workshop. Her debut novel, How Fast Can You Run (Harvard Square Editions), published under the name Harriet Levin Millan will be released October 28, 2016. How Fast Can You Run is based on the true life story of S. Sudanese "Lost Boy" Michael Majok Kuch. Eavan Boland chose her first book of poetry, The Christmas Show, (Beacon Press) for the Barnard New Women Poets Prize. It also won the Poetry Society of America's Alice Fay di Castagnola Award and was a Philadelphia Inquirer Notable Book of the Year. Her second book of poetry, Girl in Cap and Gown (Mammoth Books) was a PEW Fellowship in the Arts Discipline Winner and National Poetry Series finalist Cavankerry will release a third book of poetry, Her Oceanography, in 2018. She is Director of the Certificate Program in Writing and Publishing at Drexel University.
