Na rêde perpassam as tremulas sombras Dos altos bambús; E dorme a creoula de manso embalada, Pendidos os braços da rêde nevada Mimosos, e nús. ..................................... ..................................... O vento que passe tranquillo, de leve, Nas folhas do engá; As aves que abafem seu canto sentido; As rodas do engenho não façam ruido, Que dorme a Sinhá.
