Fyrir vestan Aleuta-eyjar, í norðr og vestr frá Blizhni-eyjum, eru Formanns-eyjar (Kommandórski Islands). Þær liggja nær 193° vestrl. og á 55° norðrbreiddar. Þeirra austust er Kopar-ey (Copper Island); en Attou er vestust af Blizhni-eyjum; falla takmörk Alaska og Asíu miðvega milli eyja þessara, svo að Kopar-ey og inar aðrar Formanns-eyjar teljast með Asíu.--Formanns-eyjar og Aleuta-eyjar og Shumagin-eyjar, það er: alt eyja-beltið frá 158° til 195° (vestrl. fr. Gr.) kallaði Forster ferðalangr (1786) einu nafni Katrínar-eyjar (Catherina Archipelago) eftir Katríni annari Rússa-drotning. Eru þær stundum svo nefndar á eldri bókum.
