Current writers (Karen Armstrong etc) are a little more open minded in their approach to Islam and the prophet. This writer (whose background I dont know) appears to be from the age of the crusades.
He has limted understanding of Islam and the prophets life. I think Martin Ling's book and Karen Armstrongs are much better.
The essay is not based on fact but the writers opinion. It reads more like a letter to the editor, many of the comments made by the writer are not explained with facts.
