The result has been that more popular novels are being adapted for streaming services in the form of shows instead of films. Bad Monkey is set to be released on Apple TV+ in 2022 with Vince Vaughn stepping into the role of Andrew Yancy.

The novel chronicles the complicated relationship between the narrator, Frances, her best friend Bobbi, and a married couple, Melissa and Nick. Frances and Bobbi meet Melissas, who is a well-known photographer, at a local poetry performance, and are gradually drawn into her world. However, what starts out as amusing flirting between Frances and Nick soon develops into something more. A successful adaptation of Rooney’s second novel, Normal People, was already released on HULU and is being followed by Conversations With Friends on the same streaming service. It is set for release in 2022 with Alison Oliver starring as Frances and Joe Alwyn as Nick.

The novel chronicles how Daisy and Billy cross paths and their band goes on to become one of the most legendary in the world before splitting up at the height of success. The Amazon Prime Video streaming television miniseries of the same name is set to release in 2022 with ten episodes that are presented in a documentary style. Riley Keough is playing the role of Daisy Jones while Sam Clafin stars as Billy Dunne.

The book is receiving an HBO adaptation, called House of the Dragon, that will serve as a prequel to their popular Game of Thrones series. The first season, consisting of ten episodes, is scheduled to premiere in August of 2022. The cast of the series includes Matt Smith, Emma D’Arcy, Olivia Cooke, Steve Toussaint, and Eve Best.
