Also quick easy reads for waiting in line at the bank or wherever.
The author follows a country bumpkin that comes to the city to go to college. She is very bright and the teacher's pet. The Teacher finds a way to make people more beautiful and offers it to this girl....
A book that explores all these angles. It's well written, if a bit slow in patches, but very very interesting!
I thought Portent could have been much more about the second sight than it was, but it was a great short story. The Cruel Painter was a lot of fun.
I like fantasy more than sci-fi. I still haven't made it all the way through and don't think I will.
