About the Author

Michal Ben Gal is a writer, producer, and designer. Born and raised among the strawberry fields of her hometown of Ramat Ha-Sharon, she is married to Uzi and they have three children and two grandchildren. Michal studied graphic design and, after many years producing books for other writers, decided it was time to begin writing herself. Her books focus on moral, social, and educational subject matter, and in 2015 she co-founded “Yanuka” publishing house with Holocaust survivor Itzchak Belfer. The publishing house shines a spotlight on the educational work of Janusz Korczak, under whose instruction Belfer was raised and taught as a young orphan. Their books have been translated into many languages and even adapted into plays. Michal considers it a duty and privilege to commemorate stories of the Holocaust that would otherwise be lost to time.
