About the Author

Biographical Information

Soren Petrek is a practicing criminal trial attorney, admitted to the Minnesota Bar in 1991. Married with two adult children, Soren continues to live and work in central Minnesota.
Educated in both the U.S. and England, Soren sat his O-level examinations at the Heathland School in Hounslow, London in 1981. His undergraduate degree in Forestry is from the University of Minnesota, 1986. His law degree is from William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, 1991.
Soren’s novel, Cold Lonely Courage won Fade In Magazine’s 2009 Award for Fiction. Fade In was voted the nation’s favorite movie magazine by the Washington Post and the L.A. Times in 2011 and 2012.
Tuck Magazine published several of Soren’s poems in 2014 and 2015. His first book of poetry has been edited by Tuck for submission to publishers in 2015. Best New Poems featured one of Soren’s poems on April 25th, 2015.
Soren’s vignette, The Photographer, was published on the website, Tell Us A Story in May 2015.
There are two other books in the Madeleine Toche series currently on Kindle U.S., Angels Don’t Die and Patience County War. Angels Don’t Die has been in the top 100 books sold on Kindle more than 20 times in the category of Jewish Fiction.
