Loving From Afar is Book One in The Women of Independence series. I've created the fictional small town of Independence from my fond memories of all the small towns I've visited in British Columbia. The setting is the Okanagan Valley, an area I know well. It's a beautiful area with a long history of fruit growing, and is unmarred by any large industry.
