Setback

I write several genres and enjoy seeing readers getting invested in any of my series. Good reviews serve as a springboard platform to write the next book in the series; bad ones act as padlocks on creativity. There is no magic pill to let the author shake off the negative reaction of readers, but the positive reaction acts as reinforcement. I've long realized that very often it's just as difficult for the reader to read the book than it is for the writer to write it.
