About the Author

Shalon Ashbel was born in Yemen in 1939 and immigrated to Israel when he was 10 years old during operation “Magic Carpet”. After graduating the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in Hebrew Literature, he worked as an educator and administrator until his retirement in 1998.

Ashbel is married, a father of four and a grandfather of nine.
