Lara Blunte has written six romance novels and a travel book. She won the Wattys Award 2015 for To Be King.
She began writing romances because she missed the old ones: Wuthering Heights, Anna Karenina, Jane Eyre, Middlemarch, Pride and Prejudice. She missed the omniscient narrator, often responsible for some of the most lyrical passages in novels.
Lara thinks that flaws make characters interesting and their stories compelling. She believes that novels should evoke laughter, tears, curiosity or suspense, and that a tale of passion should be written with passion.
There will often be "places" on her covers, because she has spent her life traveling for work, and has been to 65 countries. Portugal, Brazil, Turkey, India, Mexico, Cambodia, Jordan and Uganda have all featured in her stories.
