About the Author

Maria Ritter, author, is a clinical psychologist and psychoanalyst in La Jolla, California. She is also the author of Return to Dresden (2004) and On the Path and Other Wanderings (2015).

Dr. Ritter is a graduate of the University of Heidelberg, Germany, and The Fielding Institute in Santa Barbara, California. She also is a graduate and a faculty member of the San Diego Psychoanalytic Center.

Teri Rider, illustrator, loves to illustrate children’s and middle grade books. Her illustration styles were born in traditional watercolor, pencil, and pen & ink, and she has now translated those into digital art using Photoshop and her trusty Wacom tablet. Bringing animals and nature to life are her specialties from realistic to fantastical!
